Professional Profile

I started my real estate career in Boston working for a domestic insurance company. I went on to work for two nationals, Colliers International in South Carolina and Grubb & Ellis in Des Moines. I had the opportunity to stay home after my third child was born. My retirement as a Senior Vice President of Grubb & Ellis lasted all of one week. I quickly became busy consulting on real estate and finance and teaching real estate at Grand View University in the business department. When my youngest went to kindergarten, I went on to work for Kum & Go, in the role of Real Estate Development Manager, managing site selection and real estate development and entitlement including analyzing new and existing markets for strategic development and placement of stores in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota and Missouri, completing over $240M in development.  I then moved to Cushman & Wakefield, in the role of Vice President, representing tenants and landlords, in various business cycles, to identify commercial real estate solutions to suit their business needs.  I am currently at Principal Real Estate Investors, in the role of Senior Acquisitions and Dispositions Consultant on the Private Equity Team.  I am very active in the community. I have served on a number of real estate boards including BOMA and IREM. I am a founding member and past president of CREW Iowa.  In addition, I have served on various community boards including the Ronald McDonald House, Operation Downtown, and the Boston College Alumni Association. My past volunteer work includes Make-a-Wish, the Food Bank, Festival of Trees, Des Moines Public Schools, I have a dream Foundation, Food Bank of Iowa, and the Elevator Safety Board.  I am a founding board member of Puppy Jake Foundation, which trains service dogs for wounded military. I am a United Way Women’s Leadership Connection member, I am the Investment Committee co-chair, and I am past chair of the Women’s Leadership Community Campaign.  I also serve on the board of goodwill of Central Iowa.  I am a member of the 2005 40 under 40 class and a graduate of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute. I have my undergraduate degree from Boston College, my MBA from Suffolk University, and I hold four real estate designations (CCIM, CPM, RPA, FMA). I am a licensed Iowa Real Estate Salesperson.
