J. Max Hamidi, CCIM, began his career more than 22 years ago in commercial real estate by identifying and acquiring locations for the Circle K brand in Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama. By keying on larger, more complete convenience and fueling stations, the company grew into one of the most recognizable convenience store brands in the world. Hamidi joined Marcus & Millichap in Memphis, Tenn., in 2017, before opening his own firm. He is currently CEO and managing broker of Sperry Commercial Global Affiliates, Magellan Group, where he works with clients to acquire retail properties, develop strip centers, leasing and managing properties, and offering other real estate services. Prior to his successful career in commercial real estate, Hamidi was franchise regional manager for Perkins Family Restaurants, where he specialized in site selection, operations, and marking in the Northeast U.S. In his time with Perkins, he was able to add 13 new locations in the North East, learning the importance of site selection as a means of producing strategic advantages that can lead to long-term success.
