Mr. Dohm has been a licensed real estate broker for over 35 years. He holds both the SIOR (Society of Industrial and Office Realtors) and CCIM (Certified Commercial Institute Member) designations, as well as the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation and all major securities licenses.

John Dohm is the past SIOR Regional Director for the USA South. He is also a past-president of the SIOR Florida Chapter, is a member of the SIOR Foundation, and Chairman of the global organization’s Membership Standards Committee.

Mr. Dohm served as the 2015-16 Chairman of the Board of the Miami Association of Realtors, which, at over 60,000 members, is now the largest in the USA and includes over 15,000 members in Greater Fort Lauderdale as well over 240 international partnerships. He is also past-president of the 3,100 member Realtors’ Commercial Alliance (now Miami Commercial), the commercial division of the Miami Association. The Association has recently honored John as its 2019-2020 Realtor of the Year for its 100th anniversary. He was also awarded the honor in 2011, 2012 and 2015.  In addition, he serves on the Board of Directors of the 187,000 member Florida Realtors (FR) association, is a National Director of the 1.3 million member National Association of Realtors (NAR), and just completed a two-year term on the visionary NAR Strategic Thinking Committee.

John is past president of the CCIM Broward Chapter, serves on the board of the Miami Chapter and served for five years on the board of the state CCIM organization. He founded the Commercial Industrial Real Estate Brokers Association and is a two-term past president.

Beyond traditional brokerage, John specializes in public-private partnerships, complex land assemblage, and commercial redevelopment.  He shares a successful regional brokerage office in Miami with Ted Konigsberg, a veteran commercial broker, fellow SIOR member and longtime friend. They often combine forces as Infinity Commercial Real Estate. During the last market cycle John also worked with a land development consortium that reclaimed rock-pits by filling them for development as sustainable office and industrial parks.

Mr. Dohm is currently working as real estate advisor to Ricondo Associates, prime consultants to the Broward County Aviation Department in completing the update to the FLL Master Plan.  He had previously assembled and coordinated a team that relocated the Broward County Aviation Department's administrative and project management offices during the Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport Expansion Project which is nearing completion.

John has a lengthy relationship with Port Everglades including engagement as real estate advisor to the AECOM (www.AECOM.com) consulting team selected by Broward County to advise Port Everglades on the relocation of the port's foreign trade zone (FTZ-25). He continues to regularly attend Port meetings and participate on numerous boards and committees in both Miami-Dade and Broward counties to advise county and municipal agencies on freight transportation, perishables cargo, infrastructure, and real estate issues*. These currently include the Freight Transportation Advisory Committees (FTAC) of the Municipal and Transportation Planning Organizations (MPO/TPO) of both Miami-Dade, where he serves as Vice-Chairman, and Broward County; the State of Florida’s Freight Advisory Committee to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), where he serves as Chairman; and the Florida Transportation Plan’s 2020 Revision Committee. He also volunteers his time and expertise to accompany PortMiami and Port Everglades on trade missions and speaks regularly to real estate and civic groups about the importance of infrastructure to Miami and South Florida’s emerging global position.

John has merged real estate with transportation planning through his work with consultants to the Florida Department of Transportation in District 6 Sub-Area Freight Planning studies. He has served as a sub-consultant on the Medley Freight Mobility Study with CTS Engineering; the Miami River Freight Study with Atkins Global; the Miami Gardens Freight Study with PE Engineering; the ongoing PortMiami Tunnel Evaluation Study with CTS, Bermello Ajamil, and HNTB; the Hialeah Freight Study with Transystems, which is currently underway; the Homestead Freight Study with Atkins Global, which is underway; and the Miami-Dade County Truck Parking Master Plan with EXP Engineering and CDM Smith.
